WELCOME
Mr. Kenyatta and myself would like to sincerely welcome you
to Emerald Phoenix. We hope this will be a place where you can feel at home as
you start taking your first steps toward a successful re-entry into society.
This group is for anyone with the desire to end the revolving door cycle of our
penal system, and to build a dream of a better tomorrow. Come let us build that
dream together.

ENTREPRENEUR'S
CREED
I do not choose to be a common person. It is my right to be uncommon-
if I can. I seek opportunity - not security. I do not wish to be a
kept citizen, humbled and dulled by having the state look after me. I
want to take the calculated risk, to dream and to build, to fail and
to succeed. I refuse to barter incentive for a dole; I prefer the
challenges of life to the guaranteed existence: The thrill of
fulfillment to the stale calm of Utopia. I will not trade my freedom
for beneficence nor my dignity for a handout. I will never cower
before any earthly master nor bend to any threat. It is my heritage
to stand erect, proud and un-afraid; to think and act for myself, to
enjoy the benefit of my creations and to face the world boldly and
say: This, with God's help done. All this is what it means to be an
Entrepreneur.

Emerald Phoenix is pleased to announce the launch of their new website
www.emeraldphoenix.org. It has been
long awaited, and we know this site is going to open many new areas of
information and communication to the public.
Please bare with us during this time, as this site is still
under construction. The areas that are nearing
completion are the Resources Page & the Contact
Pages. We felt that these areas would be the most immediately useful to
visitors who need help with employment and access to public and private
agencies, along with contact information to the good people here at
Emerald Phoenix. Many of you who are familiar with
our paper Resource Guide, are going to find our Online
Resource Guide much more useful. We have tracked down the websites of most
of the employers and agencies. Many of the employers list positions that are
open, contact information, and some even have applications that can be filled
out on line, saving you a lot of time and money.
